Be a part of Rock Star Camp and have the time of your life!

Rock Star Camp is much more than a typical summer band camp. It is a very unique, enriching experience for its participants. We have been told by many parents that “the magic” of the camp is our philosophy of getting out of the way and allowing the campers to discover and create from their own ideas. Although we are called Rock Star Camp, our bands write and produce in music in whatever style they like.

This approach fosters leadership, confidence and personal development. Our campers always attain an immense sense of achievement at the end of the camp when realizing what they have accomplished with their own concepts, planning and execution.

Rock Star Camp not only provides a venue for fun, creativity and team building, but also provides the campers with a fundamental knowledge of the music industry for those who wish to pursue a career in music.

All levels of experience welcome.

The Program

Work at your own pace

No experience? No problem. We cover the basics including music lessons, instrument training, working a crowd and preparing your stage show. We aren’t copying any one else. You are writing your own songs and performing at the level you are able to play at.

So you want to do rap, metal, pop, country, folk, blues? No problem. We have been producing music since 1987 and have worked in every style imaginable. We will guide you in understanding the intricacies of each style and making your songs rock in whichever genre you choose to play.

Learn to write a hit song

You will learn the secrets of writing hit songs and the formulas expected by major radio stations and more importantly your potential fans. We will listen and learn about song writing based on your favorite artists. Every song you hear is a lesson if you know what to listen for!

Sound like the pros

The camp is housed at Fat Dog Studios, a world class recording studio and taught by instructors and music producers with decades of experience recording thousands of songs.

You will learn studio tricks and techniques used by award winning producers. We house some of the finest equipment available at any level and know how to use it.

Go viral

There’s thousands of amazing songs and bands out there you’ve never heard of. Where many of them fall flat is they do not effectively release to the public. We will show you what to do to get noticed and increase your chances of making a career of doing what you love.

The awesome power of teamwork

Being in a band is a team event. We will discuss and manage common issues that arise in group situations. At Rock Star Camp we focus on maintaining a fun group based atmosphere where everyone has a voice- just like any band should be run!

Create in a creative space

The Number 1 comment we hear when people walk into our space for the first time is “Wow!”.
We have created a true live venue environment right on our recording floor. We regularly host events here for the public. Where better to practice and work out your set? We would be happy to provide a tour any time you’d like.

Working with the media

You have created the music, so what happens next?
Our team of industry experts will show you some important things to consider to make sure your song not only gets heard, but gets heard by the right people. You will learn about giving effective interviews and working with the media.

Look your best

All participants will finish their session with am awesome band poster, press kit and CD complete with custom artwork.  Want more cool stuff? Optional items are available including T-shirts, larger posters, lanyards and more!

Most importantly

As much as this experience will teach the importance of professionalism, strategic planning, setting and achieving goals, team building and all of the important things that go into being a great band; our primary goal is to make sure our bands are having the time of their lives while undergoing this journey.  It’s a tough industry and if you are not having fun…

On the final Friday there will be a concert at 4:15 featuring the bands performing songs they have written and recorded during their camp.

Show them what you’re made of at your debut concert!

We offer a complimentary after hours service between 8:30 and 9:00 am and 4:00 and 4:30 pm to make it easier for dropping off and picking up. If you need special arrangements outside of these hours please contact us.
